Mobile Instrumented Mound

Portable Force-Sensing Pitching Mound

AMTI’s Mobile Instrumented Mound provides 3D forces and moments under each foot throughout an entire pitch in a fully portable package. Featuring three embedded Optima-BMS force plates, the Mobile Mound offers mobility without sacrificing the accuracy, reliability, and repeatability that define AMTI force measurement. Designed for Major League organizations, Division I baseball programs, and other high performance pitching facilities.

Dimensions: 5′ Wide x 12’8″ Long x 11-3/4″ Tall

This portable force plate-instrumented pitching mound is a heavy duty 3-piece wooden composite design, engineered to be extremely rigid. The robust construction prevents unwanted flex or vibration and preserves the high quality data expected from a permanent or fixed force plate mound installation. It affords mobility without compromising measurement integrity.

The 3-piece design breaks down for transport and re-location and can be set up again with minimal time and effort. No concrete base, construction work, or facility renovation is required.

The three embedded AMTI force plates ( 1 x BMS600900 under pitching rubber, 2 x BMS6001200 down the slope) capture bilateral ground reaction forces with full left and right foot independence. This allows for complete analysis of how the drive leg and lead leg contribute to power generation, timing, and technique. Each plate records true 3D forces and moments, giving sports scientists, biomechanists, and coaches a precise view of the forces that underpin every pitch.
