Wherever it is important to measure forces and moments in three dimensions you will find AMTI multiaxis load cells (multiaxis transducers). AMTI's load cells provide up to six degrees of freedom (DOF) and can resolve applied loads into three orthogonal forces and three moments.

Our load cells are used in the aerospace industry for wind tunnel measurements, control surface measurements, landing gear drop testing and for pilot ergonomic studies.

Our multiaxis force platforms and multiaxis transducers have been used by NASA in orbital experimentation for zero gravity ergonomic and task performance studies.

Force control and compliance based robotics control require multiaxis force and moment measurement. AMTI multiaxis load cells are used for inline measurement of actuator forces and are used as robotics force platforms to measure reaction forces.

AMTI multiaxis transducers are used in many marine and naval applications including tow tank measurements, control surface studies and propeller performance investigations.

Manufacturing applications include grinding and abrasive wheel research and development, tool wear and tool performance research, cutting process optimization and tool wear monitoring.

Automotive applications include tire performance research, vehicle test stand instrumentation, operator ergonomics, crash testing, vehicle dynamics, vehicle aerodynamics and wind tunnel testing.

Many applications are found in materials testing, test machine instrumentation, tribology (friction and wear), structural modeling and testing, structural dynamics, earthquake simulation and other areas where multiple degrees of freedom of force and moment measurement are required.

AMTI’s multiaxis load cells and transducers are used for many human performance monitoring tasks such as athletic performance measurements, orthopedic research and physical and occupational therapy and research.

AMTI multiaxis transducers are available in a large variety of designs and capacities. Use the Selection guide to the right for a quick overview of our standard products. If you can not locate an appropriate load cell use the Custom transducers page to contact us.
