Ethernet Enabled
Instruments
AMTI’s
Ethernet enabled data acquisition and control solutions move the data
acquisition process out of the PC into dedicated hardware designed to provide
the lowest possible noise and highest possible accuracy.
Conventional
bus mounted data acquisition cards operating inside a PC are faced with an ever
growing problem. As the PC has evolved
increasing internal clock speeds and digital data rates have made the PC an
increasingly hostile environment for making noise sensitive measurements. In conventional systems the broad spectrum
noise found in the PC is passed to the sensitive analog measurements in the
form of EMI (electro magnetic interference), ground bounce and power supply
noise. As the PC is not designed for the
purpose of providing quiet analog measurements these noise problems are often
difficult or impossible to resolve.
AMTI’s
Ethernet enabled data acquisition and control instruments move the entire
signal conditioning and data acquisition process out of the PC onto dedicated
hardware which is designed to minimize analog signal noise.
The
choice of Ethernet to provide the data transfer and control media between
AMTI’s instruments and the PC is based on the long reliable history of Ethernet
and the extraordinarily large install base of Ethernet networks. Seamless support for data transfer protocols
such as UPD and TCP/IP over Ethernet will be provided by the major PC software
and hardware vendors for many years to come.
This insures that, unlike bus mounted data acquisition cards, your
investment in AMTI’s Ethernet instrumentation will be protected from
obsolescence for many years to come.
Remote
monitoring and control is easily realized with AMTI’s Ethernet enabled
instruments. Our thinnet RG50 cable
design handles transmission distances of over 500 feet. Optical Ethernet and wireless Ethernet
converters are available that permit transmission over miles of optical fiber
or from remote wireless sites. Please
contact us if you are interested in internet enabled service.
AMTI’s
