Ø                       Advanced Mechanical Technology, Inc.

AMTI has over 25 years of experience designing and manufacturing specialty instrumentation, machines and measurement tools for clinical and research medical and industrial applications.  AMTI has received numerous grants and awards from the National Science Foundation and the National Institute of Health to fund innovative research in various areas of medical and industrial measurement technology.

AMTI is internationally known as a leading manufacturer of joint motion simulation machines.  Our hip simulator machines and knee simulator machines are placed in the majority of the worlds largest implant manufacturer’s laboratories.

AMTI manufactures and internationally distributes a large array of multi-axis force platforms and load cells used for biomechanics, gait analysis, ergonomics, and many other industrial and research applications.

AMTI force platforms have been used in gait laboratories since 1976.  In the late 70’s, AMTI introduced their first computer aided gait software.  Since that time AMTI has maintained an ongoing development program to improve and refine our hardware and software systems for gait, balance and human performance analysis.

As a natural outgrowth of our hip and knee simulator business and our force measurement expertise, AMTI has recently introduced a line of Ethernet enabled motion controllers (PID controllers) and Ethernet enabled data acquisition instruments.  These new technologies offer our customers the highest level of performance for strain gage signal conditioning, data acquisition, and motion control available on the market today.

Facilities

AMTI’s corporate offices, and research and manufacturing facilities are housed in a 23,000 square foot facility located in Watertown Massachusetts.  At this location AMTI maintains a manufacturing machine shop, calibration and testing laboratories, research and development laboratories and corporate offices.

AMTI’s multi-axis calibration laboratory is equipped with fixturing and instruments allowing us to calibrate multi-axis instruments (AMTI multi-axis instruments) with full scale capacities up to 150,000 lbs.  AMTI provides NIST traceable calibrations for all of our multi-axis force platforms and transducers.

AMTI’s electronics and mechanical development and production facilities include a well-equipped electronics laboratory, instrument assembly room and CNC capable machine shop.  AMTI’s manufacturing system and processes are ISO 9001 certified.
