BioVec Force Platform Systems for Gait and Balance
BioVec systems
are available with from one to four force platforms. BioVec systems are
aggressively priced to provide a significant savings over the cost of the
aggregate system components. Purchasing
a BioVec system not only provides you with the best
price but also assures you that you will get all of the necessary components,
instrumentation and software required to setup your gait or balance laboratory.
Several turnkey BioVec
systems are available, each employing a different signal conditioning
technology or strategy. The following table presents a brief comparison of the
available BioVec systems. Click on the system of
interest for more information.

BioVec System Configurations |
|
|
BioVec-Standard includes from one to four AMTI MiniAmps
to provide front-end signal conditioning. |
|
|
BioVec-Internal is configured using AMTI's force platforms equipped
with internal strain gage amplifiers. |
|
|
BioVec-Premium includes one to four AMTI DigiAmps,
AMTI's premium strain gage amplification and signal conditioning system. DigiAmp's provide dual outputs for Ethernet and or legacy
analog applications. An internal high power DSP provides digital filtering
and intelligent circuit compensation to achieve the most stable accurate
strain gage amplifier available today. For user convenience all amplifier
settings including gain, excitation voltage and filter cutoff frequencies are
software controlled. |

AMTI's BioVec
Standard system is an analog force platform system used by hundreds of gait
labs around the world. The BioVec Standard is
available with up to four AMTI force platforms each with a companion MiniAmp strain gage amplifier. The MiniAmp
amplifiers provide the necessary strain gage bridge excitation (jumper
selectable 2.5, 5 and 10 Volts), front-end filter factory set at 1000 Hz and
jumper selectable gains at 1000, 2000 and 4000. The high level analog outputs
of the MiniAmps are routed to AMTI's ADI-32
interconnection box from which they are then routed to a PCI bus data
acquisition card (DT 3002) mounted in a PC. The PC and peripherals are not
supplied with the BioVec system. The BioVec Standard
system provides a very economical and dependable gait lab solution.
The BioVec
Standard system is shipped with AMTI's NetForce data
acquisition software and AMTI's BioAnalysis gait and
balance analysis software.

AMTI's BioVec
Internal system is an analog force platform system which uses AMTI's platforms
equipped with internal strain gage amplifiers. The BioVec
Internal is available with up to four AMTI force platforms, where each platform
has it's own self contained strain gage amplifier. The
internal amplifiers are similar to AMTI's MiniAmp and
provide the necessary strain gage bridge excitation (jumper selectable 2.5, 5
and 10 Volts), front-end filter factory set at 1000 Hz and jumper selectable
gains at 1000, 2000 and 4000. (See the platform options selection in the
Platform home page for more information). The high level analog outputs of the
platforms are routed to AMTI's ADI-32 interconnection box and on to a PCI bus
data acquisition card (DT 3002) mounted in a PC. The PC and peripherals are not
supplied with the BioVec system.
The BioVec
Internal system also includes AMTI's NetForce data
acquisition software and BioAnalysis gait and balance
analysis software.
AMTI's BioVec
Premium system is dual output system providing both digital and analog force
platform outputs. BioVec Premium uses up to four AMTI
DigiAmps to provide amplification and signal
conditioning. BioVec premium provides the ultimate in
user convenience and is recommended for high throughput gait labs where
maximizing system flexibility and minimizing setup and testing time are
important considerations. All amplifier settings are maintained by a PC running
the NetForce software, this
ensures concordance between the amplifier hardware and software settings and
simplifies gain, excitation and filter settings.
Gain settings from 1000 to 8000 and
excitation voltage settings between 0 and 10 volts (in 1/16th volt increments)
allow you to optimize the systems dynamic range depending on the subjects body weight. As the settings are maintained and
changed on the PC you may quickly shift from settings optimized for small
children to adults in a few seconds. If your laboratory is engaged in both balance and gait work then the software adjustable
filters will permit you to switch from a low frequency balance setting to a
higher frequency gait setting with a few mouse clicks.
The BioVec
Premium system also includes AMTI's NetForce data
acquisition software and BioAnalysis gait and balance
analysis software.
The BioVec
Premium system is a state of the art gait lab solution and is ideal for gait
labs where efficiency and flexibility are of critical importance.
